SJA NEWS From The Special Education Department

The Student Services department is almost back in full swing! The Functional Life Skills and Social Communication programs have students participating in food labs, baking Halloween treats, community walks to Maple Bakery, Fresh Juice House, etc. Also, our Pathways to Employability Program (PEP)  is also up and running with students receiving transit training to and from work at Kelsey’s.

Students, both remote and in-person, continue to be supported via the core room (room 317) and the virtual core room.

This year we are focusing on student well-being and stress support. Students have participated in Kids Have Stress Too Workshops led by our Behaviour Resource support worker and Learning Strategies teachers. We are looking forward to a continued successful academic school year!
